Does anyone know of and hop-ups for the Johnson 115 Faststrike? Is this the same block as the 140 used to be? Seems like Johnson made a v4 140 also. I have this motor on a 17ft bass boat and would like to get a few more horses out of it.

If it's a faststrike it a 60 degree V4. They never made a 140 with 60 degree block. If you had the old crossflow V4 I'd still tell you it a waste of time and money. The old crossflow 110-115's were about 120-122 at the prop. The 140's on their best day never put out more than 128 at the prop. They were just in the lower part of the 10% zone to be called a 140hp. The V4 90 was the fastest out of the hole, behind that the 115's. Both would swallow the 140's till the 140's gained enough rpms to start breathing then they would top the 115's by like 1-2 mph.

Re: hot rod parts for Johnson 115 Faststrike

Thanks for the reply. It is a 1997 115 FastStrike which I believe is a 90 degree V4. I take it then from your reply that this is about as much as this motor will produce. I have asked before about possibly putting a 150 on my boat, but it is rated for a Max hp of 140. It is a 268 stratos DC which is pretty heavy. ANy help on a possible setup for this boat would be appreciated. Should I go with a setback transom Jack?? if so how much?

Thanks again...

Scott
