How hard are these to hook up? Also, how do they hook up?

Also, are they worth it? It looks like you can get them for around $100, but I don't know if there is anything else to buy or if the kit includes it all.

Re: Hot Foot

they hook to standard throttle cable, very easy to install, but IMO not worth a dang unless it's a racing boat...

Re: Hot Foot

hit a wave hard bounce and your foot comes off. at least with the standard control you can criuse without holding the throttle with you foot. a hot foot is like not having cruise control on your car.

Re: Hot Foot

Then why do people like them?

Based on what you guys have said, they sound like more work.

Re: Hot Foot

basically they are needed on a boat that is fast enough that you need both hands on the wheel to safely keep it under control,

Yep, that's true. I wouldn't drive my Hyrostream without one but I wouldn't have one on my Hydra Sports. Totally dependant on application.

Re: Hot Foot

actually on a bass boat they can be very helpfull. if you get on from "land and sea" then your throttle cable has to be extended but the hand throttle is now used as a cruise control. i love mine for the simple reason of turning and staying on the plane at lower speeds when its rough or crossing a wake. land and sea's web site will tell you all of the benefits i am sure.
