Re: hot foot throttle

They're set up to accept both Merc and OMC cables (I don't know about Yamahas). However, more than likely you'll need a longer throttle cable. Figure out where the hot-foot is going to be installed then see how much your existing cable comes up short.

Yeah no way to tell unless you try. Sometimes the way it's routed can be adjusted and you'll have plenty other times you just need to get a new cable the right length.

Re: hot foot throttle

question on those hot foot throttles. I've thought about doing it mysef and have been wondering do they stay at constant throttle or do they spring back to idle when you let off? I'm just wondering if I can still troll with that setup

Re: hot foot throttle

They've got a very hefty return spring. There's a company that makes a foot throttle which can be used in combination with an existing control box, sounds like that's what you're looking for. They're much pricier than a Hot Foot, and darned if I can remember the name of them right now (but I bet Google knows).

What's a "hot" foot throttle? Is it different than a normal foot throttle?
