hot foot installation question

Gents,

Installing a hot foot on a mercury 1999 90hp. On a TH Marine Model (hot foot) # HF-1-DP do you just hook the throttle cable to the hot foot and then thats it. Sound to easy to be true. Please advise. Is there any trick or hidden adjustment that I might want to know about before I attempt to install it myself. Any help or guidance would be greatly apprechiated.

It is a very easy procedure. I had to purchase a new throttle cable a couple of feet longer than the hand throttle. Install hot foot and run new cable to motor, disconnect hand throttle and hook up new cable. Make sure cable has no hard bends and moves freely and spring on hot foot is tight enough for throttle to return quickly. If you want hand throttle also you have to hook up differently than I described. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks. I will try this and see if i can get it going. Do you have to buy a new longer cable, because the throttle cable I have on there now will reach my hot foot easily.
