I have an older model 115 hp evinrude, has not run for three years. After i got it started a short time later an alarm sounded in throttle control. After shutting off engine, i could not restart engine. Seems as if there is no power at ignition now. Why? Battery ok.
I am asuming my water pump has quit, it used to pump. Engine was last run in salt water 3 yrs ago.
Lots of water at muffs but nothing coming out of engine when it was running. Why doesnt ignition reset.
How do i change the water pump. I am sorry i do not know the year. It is a mix fuel/gas engine.
Thanks

The overhaet may have fried the stator windings. That's just a guess. You'll need to test stator for outout voltage at cranking speed if it'll turn over. Then progress testing to the next ignition component.

start at the basics. first a compression test, then a spark test then elimiate fuel. post the engine model number as well. the 115 has been in and out for years.then after sitting 3 years do the water pump and t-stats and rebuild the carb and clean the id of the fuel lines and possibly rebuild the fuel pump
