After removing my starter from OMC 5.0 I found a 1/2 hose laying under engine, the other end looks like it connects somewhere under flywheel housing. Is this a water drain?

yes it is digit 1 end is hooked to the flywheel housing the other should be zip tied over the top of the starter. someone probaly changed it before and never tied it back up. you will notice the end to be tied up will be cut on a angle. do not plug it off it acts as a vent. bob

Thanks Bob,
I guessed write! The end is cut at an angle.

Let me ask you a starter question. Would you have your starter rebuilt or just buy a rebuilt one? Mine works fine rite now but there has been times out on the water when I go to start it the bendix stays engaged. It seemed like after I beet on the starter a few times it would disengage after the engine started.
