I'm new to the forum and want some infor on Velvet drive transmissions, What king of Torque and Horsepower can these Transmissions handle. I have twin 7.4 inboards was thinking of a camshft and intake change when I preform the overhauls. I played around with stern drives on another boat after some engine mods the drive didnt like it, just dont want to go thur that again. Thanks in advance Jamie

I hope there 1:1 72C velvet drives. Gear reduction models do not like a heavy boat and more power then there designed to handle.

Re: Horsepower and Torque ratings

I'm getting 310 hp @ 4200 RPM for the 71C 1:1 and 475 @ 4200 for the 72C 1:1. Torque specs are not in my service manual.
