horse power to knots

I have a mariner 40hp magnum 1990 outboard engine, how can I find out what kinds of knots it may do for insurance purposes.

It will be on the back of a 15ft Global Mirage and Im in the UK if that makes any difference.

Your insurance company whats to know a top speed of your boat?
I would just give them a good guess. Who will dispute it?
I would tell them 25 but that's just me.

That engine on that boat would do very well to get 30kt. I agree with TWC, 25 kt max.
