Google NADA for the boat web site. Put in your zip code and it will give you a good starting value.

My condolences for your loss... Do you have a marine dealer in your area? Under the circumstances they might be able to give you a fair market value after looking at the outfit.

I'm sorry for your loss. I understand the confusing aspects of trying to sell off property that needs a new home.

I second the above suggestion to go to a local boat dealer and talk directly to somebody. If you really want to, you can search the internet to see what you can find.

Here's what I just did: Just out of curiosity, I went out to the NADA site to put in some basic information from your description. Just based on some guesses and on the assumption that the boat is in decent shape, that $4000 offer could be low. I wouldn't know more unless I could see the boat and see if there's any extra things on it that would increase the boat's value. The estimates are also dependent on area of the country.

The web site is not easy to get to if you're just doing a google search. There are many extraneous sites that can send you on a wild goose chase that make you sift through ads and all manner of garbage to get to what you need. I think this link will take you in a direct way to some help: JD Power Boat site. I found this site by going through the NADA site.

I really hope it all works out for you as you move forward. God bless.

Welcome aboard and sorry for your loss

depending on where you are located, the $4k may be its current value.

as others indicated. NADA and BUC value are two sites. However a simple google search for similar boats for sale in your area will bring a bunch of data.

Quick google search shows the same boat for sale with a range from $2k to $4k. New the lowe 1648 MT is being advertized for only $3900 at one dealer online (without motor)
