Well, the Admiral and I finally bit the bullet, I resigned in Jacksonville FL and moved across country to take a position in Seattle Washington. Lot of opportunity and lots of boating opportunity. However, as a Southern Boy who thinks anything north of Interstate 10 is a foreign country, it has been a culture shock. My idea of winterizing was roll the boat into the garage and turn the heater on to 55. Now that i am in the Seattle Area, The temps have not been above 55 since I have been here and have been as low as 34.

I learned real fast how to winterize with anti-freeze and I am currently looking for a place to put in the water where i can obtain maps of the local waterway.

Still looking for a place to call my own in the Seattle to Everett area and working on my goal of becoming a Kept Man with enough money from the Admiral to keep me in fuel and bait.

Are there any local Iboats members in the Seattle area? Is there any local gatherings? I am anxious to get in the water but really want to learn the local customs, depths, hazards in the area first.

If you're looking for members in the same area, go to the contact list and list by location, I'm sure you'll find plenty of help for local knowledge...
