So I hooked up a starting/ accessories deep cell battery today and when I went to crank it, it sounded like the battery was dead and had no juice. That's when I saw smoke and the battery was smoking!!! I don't know what is going on??? This motor connects to the battery where there is a nut that you screw on, unlike my last motor where i hooked it up like a car. The thicker posts without threads. The same place you hook your car to the battery.. Should I buy new connectors to hook up to the battery??(like a car) I don't know I thought I got a good deal on this boat but now everything seems to be going wrong.
