So the soon to be wife and I are taking off in late September for out honeymoon. We will have monday-Sunday to do something. We are planning on taking the boat out for a week which opens up the east coast to us. We are playing with three ideas.

Idea 1: Oak Island, NC to Savanaha, GA, with stops in Hilton Head and Charleston, SC.
Idea 2. Chesapeake Bay, putting in at Sandy Point and going down the bay and up the Patomic to DC with stops in St Mikes, Anapolis etc.
Idea 3. Pulling the boat down to the Florida Keys

Idea 1 and 2 I like because I have been in those areas before. Idea 3 is a 900 mile drive each way with the boat in tow but if I do it im sure the keys are geat, though I have read that there are allot of navigation hazards.

Input is appreciated.

My only comment is that #3, while it sounds great, brings the opportunity for too much stress to a Honeymoon. My .02. Congratulations!

If it weren't for your location, and budget was no concern, I would strongly recommend Lake Powell. Bucket list stuff, and would make your Honeymoon incredibly memorable. Houseboat rental and a couple of PWCs. I know your boat is new, but felt I needed to mention.

Lake Powell would be nice, bucket list like you said. Perhaps in another 33 years when I retire.....

Check out putting your boat in on the st. Johns river at Welaka, fl., cruise and explore as far south as lake Monroe, several resorts,(check Hontoons Resort and Island)", restaurants, springs, side rivers like the historic Ocklawaha, beautiful scenery and wildlife...and the river is almost heaven in September, after the heat and bugs are mostly gone....We've been dragging the boat down there for over 50 years and never tire of the wild beauty of the area....congratulations and best of luck!!!....
