i have a honda bf100 and i am trying to find out what year it is so i can get a book to do up keepon it.where do i find the serial number and model number the plate has been painted over.The problem i am having setting the carb.

Since the frame number is gone you will need the engine number.As you are looking at the front of the engine with the cover off,look just to the left of the carb and just above all the crap that makes this thing shift.You will see a set of stamped #s on the actual case of the engine.These are the engine #s and very hard to remove without some major effort.You can get info from those as easily as frame #S.
