Re: HONDA

Cars are good. Lawnmowers are good. Snowblowers are good. Generators are good. Motorcycles are good. 4-wheelers are good.

Outboards? Sure. :)

Re: HONDA

More important is dealer service. Go with the brand that has the best dealership service for your particular area.

Re: HONDA

cyle313,
Honda's a great little outboards but they are on the pricier end of their respective HP ranges. Bulletproof reliability, as long as they're taken care of.
As Skinnywater said, it is best to go with the best dealer service in your area. Assuming you are talking about a new motor, almost all of the major players (Honda,Yamaha,Mercury,Johnson/Evinrude) make exceptionally fine lower HP units. Reliability recently has boiled down to a matter of brand loyalty. Taken care of, all will run great for many many years. That said, see what your local dealers are like and pick the one you prefer. I am a big honda fan, but then again, I have a very large Honda dealership about 10 miles away. I have received much better service there than I ever did at my johnson dealer.

Nav

Re: HONDA

I, too am a big Honda fan, not only do I own a 15 hp Honda motor, so do about 20 ofmy fishung friends. I also have a Honda tiller, 2 generators, etc. Never had a problem with them.
Honda just came out with a new 15/20 HP, 3 cylinder w/3 carbs. Sound like a good motor also, but have not seen one, just an artice in the February Dockside magazine published out of Calif and distrubited on the westcoast.
