Hi guys<br /><br />Some time ago it was mentioned here that a fuel filter that separated water from the fuel was a good idea<br />I got a blank look from my Honda dealer when I asked them. They had a screw on Mercury filter and nothing in the books for a Honda equivalent<br /><br />Anybody with a Honda (mine's a 50hp) come across one ?<br /><br />Thanks

Re: Honda water fuel filter

Thats odd, I just got one at my honda dealer, its a compact size and I really like it. It was under $40.00. Problem is that it has no #s on it at all. Ill see if I can get the # from my dealer for you. I think it was on the plastic package it came in. I didnt like the mercury one, as it was too big. I used it on my Merc 150.

Re: Honda water fuel filter

My dealer installed an OMC fuel/water separator when new and I have been using same part ever since.

Re: Honda water fuel filter

The # they gave me today is: 06178-ZW1-030GH or code# 6485387.<br /><br />Thet are a really neat filter and separator, they have a clear bottom with a drain and are a nice small size, they will handle up to 30 GPH. The filter replacement is more than the merc one, but you only have to change it once every two years.

I do believe the Honda filters are mearly relabeled Racor filters. The Racor part numbers are even on the filter, just in smaller print.

I don't know if honda sells them seperately but the fuel pump update for the 130 comes with a pretty cool one.It is clear with a little red ring in it that doesn't float in fuel but floats in water.Makes it real easy to see if there is water in the fuel.
