i prefer the honda when you have to adjust valves
both will need this a few times in their life and it is a lot easyer and faster to do the honda valve adjustments
And that's precisely why I went with the Honda BF150 last year at this time. Plus, the dealer was extremely competitive on the pricing versus the Suzuki.
Some Honda dealers are ok, the one here locally is ok, but not that good on price as he won't haggle at all. I ended up going 45 miles from home to oreder my new Honda 225. I kept calling the Suzuki guy and never got any return calls. I have a friend who sales Suzuki, but he is knocking on the door w/cancer at the present (in the hospital) and he is a one man shop. So I went w/ Honda.
I hade priced out the Mercury Opitmax in the 225 HP ( from 2 different dealers) and got the Honda for the same money.
Both are great engines. At this point it all boils down to customer support. You need to ask the dealer you are making this investment with if they have all the equipment and trained personnel to support it if something does fail. You do not, I'm sure ,want your baby sitting in the shop waiting for the [TECH TO HEAR BACK FROM TECHLINE].,,
