Honda Trim Gauge failures

I am way down in Mexico (750 miles from the nearest Honda dealer) so need some help troubleshooting.

My 2002 Honda BF130A and my neighbor's BF90 both came up with inop trim gauges this year (plague?). The gauge on mine reads at the bottom of scale all the time and doesn't even flicker when key turned on. Sender resistance values are 90 and 6 Kohms on the two sides and those values don't change with motor position. Voltage at the gauge between yellow and ground reads about 0.655 volts and doesn't change with engine tilt position.
Suggestions? Further tests? Conclusions?
All would be appreciated.

Re: Honda Trim Gauge failures

Check your trim senders located at the pivots in the transom assembly. They are likley stuck in the down position from salt impregnation, lack of use ,etc, etc.A common failure for all manufactures. You may be able to free the sender up with lots of penetrant and manually working it until it works freely on it,s own.Look forward to repeating that proceedture.
