Hello all,
I purchased a boat, motor and trailer with a Honda 100S, a 1982 model. As I am reading about some of the problems it started to jog my memory about the early days with the ole' girl. I too had problems with cutting out,not idleing, running fine then suddenly bogging down. What I finally ended up doing was using Sea Foam, religiously! There were times when i literally knelt on the primer bulb to make it run. I has something to do with the ports and gods knows what else. The more I used Sea Foam the better the motor ran. I also used Deep Creep, made by Sea Foam. I have had the carb apart more than I cared to, but I take care of my toys like the rest of you do and when it don't run right we get crabby. I used a can of Deep Creep at different occasions, and was using Sea Foam. I mixed the Sea Foam a little heavy to begin with but then backed off when it started to run better. I sold it to a friend of mine this year for an upgrade (Honda 15hp). He says it still runs great. I quess you just have to work at it for a while. As for the other brands of fuel stabilizers out there I have no opinion since I have never used anything in my out boards. Hope this might help in some way.
