Go Honda!! Honda makes the BEST OB out there and the fuel economy is :eek: :D . Their warranties are not as long as other manufacturers but who needs a warranty when the motor doesn't break down.

Good Luck!

Bogii: I just bought a honda 130 here a month ago. I'm not real sure about the other 4 strokes but I can tell you that you can't believe the gas milage that I'm getting with the Honda.
Its unreal. Hell I don't even hesitate about taking it out because of any excusses about cash flow for for gas anymore. I'd rather put gas in the boat instead of the truck. The only down fall will be all the hours on the motor because you can afford to run it.

Just got a new 115 and have 5 hours on it...

Looks like it gets 4.2 miles per gallon before breakin.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get 5+ after breakin... it's probably double what I got with the Evin 115 I had earlier.

Just for the record...
finally did the calculations for mileage on my Honda 90. It drives a 17' Sylvan DC (with gear and motor approx 2000 lbs and 8' beam).

172 miles travelled on 90 litre tank (all at cruise or WOT)=

8.6 mi/ imp gal
or
7.2 mi/ amer gal
or
3.1 kms/litre
or
32.6litres/100kms

Cruise = 27-30 mph @ 4200 rpm
WOT = 40 mph @ 5500 rpm.

Honda warranty is the BEST in the business..3 years NON-DECLINING(bumper to bumper)...all others drop to lubricated components only after the first year :cool:

swnoel, you can count on getting substantially better economy and performance after break in.
The more moving parts in an engine the more noticeable the gains.

The 20 hour service is an important one post break in. Valves are adjusted along with fine adjustments. You also may want to consider a synthetic oil at that time.

How long of shaft do you require 20"? 25"?

www.pinewoodsports.com (Canada) has a used 20" 225 (2002) for 10500.00 I think it would be a steal if your boat required a short shaft.

I bought my 130 from them (used). They have been a pleasure to work with.
