Long time customer has big Honda,135 HP I think.
He asked me to rebuild his gearcase, and I said no,because I don't have the shimming tools or procedures.

Can anyone suggest a Honda dealer they've had good experiences with.We are in central Massachusets,so most of New England is his range.

DHP

I don't remember anything being unique on those. The only thing you should need is a dial indicater. Also, didn't Mercury and Honda share that lower unit for awhile?

Hudson's Outboard in Salisbury, Mass., seems like a very good bunch of people - experienced and well-stocked with parts. I had a good experience with them.

Ryan's Marine in Marblehead is a new dealer this year - gave me excellent service on a carb problem over the summer. A smaller outfit than Hudson's and newer to the game, but they have a very good attitude.

Re: Honda Dealers

i could be wrong but i believe that a rebuilt lower unit costs almost as much as a new one unless you do it yourself
