Honda corrosion?

There is/was a pretty lively discussion going on on THT about a corrosion situation that is alleged to be fairly common on smaller HP Honda lower units. First time that I heard anything like that but sometimes miss weeks or months of posts. Has anyone seen the discussion or have any insight otherwise?

There is a current post here with that type of problem. My friend had the same thing with his Honda 15, had to replace the mid-section.
