#1 - I removed my carbs from my Honda BF50A. Took them apart and cleaned them and replaced jets and needle valve. My shop manual said NOT to remove the break-away pilot valve screw protector and NOT to do anything with the pilot valve as it was EPA set and I should not mess with it. Should I believe that? Does the pilot valve not ever get dirty? My idle is OK, so is that the only thing the pilot valve does? (Reason I removed carbs is that # 2 cylinder was not getting any gas.) So, do you recommend breaking off the protective cap and cleaning pilot valve on each carb?
