Honda BFA battery charging plug

Just bought a used BF8A and had a question on the battery charging plug. The plug is sealed on the wire end - is there some kind of wire terminator on the inside of the plug that hold the wire in place after inserting it into the sealed plug? Or so i need to buy some kind of Honda wire harness?

Also - is there any concern with having both my main (electric start) and my kicker (manual start) directly connected to the battery for charging (only one motor on at once of course ) I intend to get a second battery and switch/isolator - but funds allow one thing at a time.

The plug should pull apart and there are two screws to connect youir wires. Just run a 12ga hot and ground from the plug to the battery. done.
