honda bf8a with no identity

any ideas on how i could find the serial number on this engine? it doesnt give me any other details other than the model.

Honda gives every motor 2 serial #'s...one on transom bracket...the other on front of block(down low-stamped in)

you were absolutly right, thank you zzzzz. my **** is all corroding off, but from what i gather, my serial number is BACE120550. does anybody know where i can get the specs on that specific engine? maybe a year?

that's a 1990...parts diagrams at boats.net...manuals at helminc.com
