Honda BF8A question,year,$ value?

Hi All,
I just bought a used 8hp four stroke. Model # BF8A. Serial # on engine:BACE 1211507. I was told it was a 2000 model. Any idea what year it is for sure and any other specifics. I went to boats.net and couldn't find mine in their listings. I would like to buy the service manual as well as parts as the need arises. I paid $700 for it, seems to be in average used condition, what would a 2000 model usually sell for? Thanks for your help.

Went to a Honda dealer yesterday and they told me that w/ the frame ser. # they could easily identify the year. My frame id tag has rusted rivets and it appears to have fallen off some time ago. Can anyonyone tell what year it is for sure w/ the motor ser.# BACE 1211507 ? They said anywhere from a 1990-1997 (not much help). Thanks.
