I have 2 manuals for my BF75L motor, and each has a different idle mix screw setting. What is the actual carburetor idle mix screw setting for this motor. Exact year unknown, about 1980

Idle mix can be different for every motor. The correct way to mix the air fuel mixture is with a warm engine put it under load, or way, and with the engine at idle in gear start with screw at 1 turn or less and begin to turn it out slowly until maximum rpm is reached, when you go too far the rpm's begin to drop tighten again slowly to get the highest.
