Hi everyone,
I just purchased a Honda BF60 four stroke for my 1974 Mako 15 (my 1972 Mercury Thunderbolt 800 decided to blow the head). I have a Faria Euro tach that states in the directions that the 4 poles setting should be set when connected to this Honda. When I was on the lake, the tach shows 400 rpm as idle, which makes sense. At 2000 rpms, I'm going 27 MPH according to my GPS speedometer, which seems like the tach is off. I would have thought it should have been more like 3000 rpms for this speed. At 2500 RPM's the speedometer is showing 37 MPH, and wow does it feel like it! I can't imagine the speed at 5500 RPM's if the pole setting is correct. Maybe the 4 poles is incorrect? Anyone have experience with the Faria tach and pole settings for the Honda?
