Hello,
I recently bought this motor used as part of a sailboat package. The boat was the important part of the deal, so I wasn't overly concerned with the outboard. Nonetheless, I'd like to service it and get it ready to go for this season.
I'm looking to nail down what year this motor is. The serial number I found stamped on the starboard side by the mounting bracket is: BADS-2303541 (BF5A). Further to that, I'd like to source a shop manual, but don't want to pull the trigger until I know which one I actually need. Also, if anyone has and links for places to get parts for these motors that would be great as well.
I have noticed some water in the lower unit, and plan to resolve that as well. I have lots of experience with Mercruisers, and older OMC outboards, so just need to get up to speed on this one. It runs like a top otherwise.
