Honda BF50 1996 , the steering main vertical shaft has probably become slightly corroded with the engine not been used for a while , it was therefore almost seized , I have freed things off a bit and greased it however it is still not good and too tight for the steering cable/wheel to operate.

Any further tips on trying to free it further ?

Worse scenario how complicated is it to dismantle this shaft / then clean and replace it ?

What requires disasembling to be able to remove this shaft as I believe it is quite an envolved job ?

Thanks

Re: Honda BF50 Steering Shaft Problem

have you tried heating the shaft up with a rosebud on a torch, usually melts alot of the crappy grease and allows you to pump fresh grease in, be careful not to heat the engine pan, its plastic, you may or will have to repaint when your freed up
