Re: Honda BF50 carb problem 1997

I have a Honda Marine carburetion manual and according to the specs on a BF50, the mixture screws are only 1 turn, not 2 1/8. It also says in the trouble shooting/symptom section as per your symptoms, that a possible cause is a plugged or restricted emulsion tubeand/or idle port.

How long did you soak the parts in cleaner? A quick cleaning with spray cleaner after possible fuel decomposition for a year, may not have got it all. Also be sure to use the proper cleaning tools for the jets and tubes.

Finally, be sure the air vents in the carbs (2 in each) are not plugged up. You should also be sure that the carbs are synchronized to each other using the necessary vacuum gage set to balance them as on so theres no hogging the load by any single carb.
