Honda BF5 and reversing

Hey all,<br /><br />I have a HondaBF5 fitted in a well in my newly acquired boat. The vessel is ashore at the moment and there is no water handy to test it, however i have noticed that i cannot move the gear handle into reverse. Is this a safety feature ? Will it be possible when the engine has started , or is there some mechanical adjustment that is required ?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Jimbo.

You should be able to shift gears as you turn the motor over slowly.
