Hi all we have just fitted a Honda BF35A engine today to our boat.
We have attached our battery power cables to the starter solenoid & earthed at the starter motor.
We attached the engine kill/emergency switch connector then placed the choke/fast idle to the start position & turned the ignition key, nothing happened.
The oil & water indicators did not illuminate on the control box when the ignition key was turned & nothing from the starter motor.
Please advise as to what (if anything) else should be done, or not?
With thanks Invader.

Have you got the boat engine harness connected to the engine harness? Could be a fuse that is blown and not powering the keyswitch.

Thank you for the information/suggestion multimech. Having received a call from the person I purchased the engine from, it was only a missing (live feed) wire which was the issue .
I am expecting the missing part to arrive in the post shortly, in the mean time I have attatched a substitute wire (connecting the keyswitch/remote) & the engine burst into life :) on the 1st turn of the key.
What a beautiful engine this is, so quiet & smooth, I am very pleased with it.

Having received the missing parts in the post, I have now fitted them & our BF35A engine starts on the 1st turn of the key:):).
After fitting the included trim/tilt & taco gauges to the throttle assembly, we are unable to get either to work.
Can anyone advise as to why these gauges are not working please:confused:?
