Honda BF30A RPMs/Tiny Tach Questions

I purchased a Tiny-Tach (standard 2C model...) and hooked it up to the first Cylinder. (3 cylinder, 4 stroke engine).

Idle RPMs in the manual say around 900. The Tiny Tach averages around 2750. Dividing that by two gives me 1375... Now is dividing that number (2750) correct? Or is 2750 the actual RPM at idle?

Is the idle different in neutral compared to in gear?
(I haven't had a chance to get the boat back in the water yet, so I can't really test WOT for another week or so).

I also tried the other two cylinders and got 4150/4200.

Thanks in advance!

sometimes those will not work
need to be in gear to set idle

If you devide it by 3 you get 917. Not sure if that is what you would have to do with a 3 cylinder or not. Call them and talk to customer service.
