Hi everyone new to the site and read alot of great info!!
Thanks awesome!
But now I have a question????
I'm currently buying a used outboard motor. I've narrowed it down to 2 motors.
A 1998 honda bf30a w/eletric start or A 2003 Yamaha F25 w/eletric start both motors appear to be in the same condition and are both 4-stokes. I'm just confused on which motor to choose? The 5 hp difference isn't a big deal to me, the thing is i've had so many honda's without any problems, even tho its an older motor I'm sort of leaning that way. Is there anything as far as options or anything else that I should be considering? Reliability?

Any input would be Great!
Thanks
Chuck

Two excellent motors, for sure.

You didn't mention any price difference, but I would go for the Honda by a narrow margin.

I like the Honda to, but I'd have to go with the 5 year newer motor.

I side with Skinny on this one. I've owned both a 25 yammy and now have a 30 Honda. Both excellent motors, but I'd go with the newer model. Good luck and enjoy, Junky..............
