Honda BF25 2002 will not turn over

Dead man switch clip in place, in neutral press starter button = nothing. Solenoid crossed over and immediately turns over. Concerned about starter button, neutral switch and solenoid. Have I missed something? How to rule in or out the three above? Thank you drrandy

There are two small wires coming out of the solenoid, one is black with a white stripe unplug it and touch that wire to positive and see it if cranks. If it does you know the solenoid is ok, if it doesnt replace the solenoid. You can probably also bipass the nuetral safety switch temporarily to see if that is whats causing the failure.
