I have 2 bf75's one is a 1978 model and the other is a 1985. if they have an oil filter I am unaware of it... I have been told that when they do quit, they self destruct.. I have changed the fuel pump on both of my engines as that to me is the weak point. if the fuel pump diaphram leaks, then the oil will become contaminated with gas and ruin the bearings. But all and all, if you keep a good maint. sched. on it, it should last a long time..Goood luck
