I AM ABOUT TO PURCHASE A 2004 HONDA BF 225 IN NEXT WEEK OR SO... ANY COMMENTS ABOUT THIS MOTOR ? THIS IS MY LAST CHANCE TO HEAR COMMENTS FROM YOU GUYS BEFORE I PULL THE TRIGGER.. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INSIGHT

Pretty good motor, quiet and smooth, fuel efficient, heavy due to it being a 4 cycle and your gonna have more maintenance to do than a 2 cycle, but you should be pretty happy with it. What kind of warranty are you getting with it and are there places you can get service near by?

SERVICE IS CLOSE BY AND IT HAS A 3 YR NON DECLINING WARRANTY.. AND A $1250 INCENTIVE TO BOOT... I THINK I WILL BE HAPPY..

As for service costs, the only real difference between a 2 and 4 stroke motor is the oil change every 100 hours, which can be done at home and isn't that costly. Valve clearence also needs to be checked periodically but so far, mine have not needed an adjustment.
