Honda BF 225-should it be pissing all the time???

Took the motor out yesterday for a test run and it ran fine for 3 hours, but the thing was pissing very little. When i purchsed the engine, the tell tale was really strong. But now it just seems to be dripping out...
Is there a thermastat to control how much water goes through the engine to keep the temperature optimized? None of the buzzers went off to indicate it was overheating, so i assumed that Honda knew what they were doing and I went with it.
Any input would be appreciated

Oh, and a 225 on a 22' whaler is so fast its scary.

Oh, and what is the correct pole # for the tachometer to read right?

sounds like you may just have some blockage in the pee tube...run the motor on the muffs and spray compressed air up the tube to dislodge any obstruction

Yeah, i will try to hit it sith some compressed air. I ran it today on the muffs and tried to blow in the hole, blast water up there etc... and it varied the flow-sometimes it would drip, other times it would **** out a few inches...so i think it is just a simple obsruction for sure.

I have twin Honda BF225's and the pee hole gets clogged quite often especcailly if it sets for 2 weeks or so. As long as alarm not going off and running ok, no reason to worry.

Sugestion- I keep a piece of lawn trimmer string on board and run it through the hole to clean out, .O80" diameter works fine. Because it flexible it does a great job.

Crabber5010, what is causing it to clog up? I am getting a Honda 225 installed this week on my boat so am curious what to watch for.
