Honda BF 15a LowerUnit

Ok I bought the Honda 1993 15A for 400 and it runs great. However I took it to the Honda dealer for a water pump and they told me that the whole lower unit is shot. The oil screws will not come out the whole lower is damaged from saltwater. They quoted me 950 for a new lower and it would take up to 8 weeks to get it : (
. That in my opinion is way too much. I have looked every website trying to find one and I can find anything. Does anyone have on or know of a place to get maybe a used one? Or just one at a lower Price?

Honda parts are expensive. Look here as they are about the cheapest around. I think it will be hard to find a used lower unit. Check w/local dealers they sometimes hang onto old motors for parts.

I have checked with all of my local dealers that deal with Honda Outboards. There really is only about five of them. They all only stock and order new parts. I did however let them know I was looking for a used lowerunit and they told me if they get any they will call.

Check eBay...it's amazing what outboard parts they have listed new & used!
