Got this motor cheap. Hard to pull. I have checked everything I can think of. Timing, valve adjust, plugged exhaust, flywheel and cam gear ok. pulls not bad with plug in cylinder #1,not smooth. plug in #2 is, you have to pull hard. looks like its been worked on. No carbon in cylinders.

Hi there, hope you can help me.
Engine is very hard to pull with plugs in. Checked valves, timing, pulled head off to look for restrictions in exhaust. Its a 4 stroke model. How hard should this turn over? Should I get a couple revolutions on each pull? This unit has been apart. No carbon in cylinders. Could be wrong head gasket? Wrong rings? Not sure what to do next. Any info would be great.

Hard as in it has a great deal of compression, or hard to get it to spin even turning it with no plugs in at all?

I checked the compression and have about 95 psi on both cylinders. I am not sure how easy this engine should spin. I have a 9.9 that spins easier with the plugs out.
