honda bf 15 a 1996

trying to remove lower leg,honda bf 15a 1996 tiller long leg.removed 4 bolts disconected shifter linkage ,won't budge.should i force it.trying to replace all bearings .they squeel when decelerating

Give it some agressive hits on the tailstock with a soft deadblow or a heavey rubber mallet.You should see some movement.If not,then when is the last time this unit was apart?All factories reccomend that the gearcase is removed every year to inspect the water pump,but most folks only remove that gearcase when that water pump fails .At that point the driveshaft is stuck in the powerhead,AND YES ,you might have to do some damage to separate the two units.
