honda bf 130 nmea 2000

hello,

does anyone knows if the honda BF 130 of the year 2006 is equipped with NMEA 2000 ports, to read out the instruments readings on a garmin chartplotter ( 4000 series?)

Can you put a sensor on it to read out the fuel consumption?

nmea out put on the honda comes from the digital gauge
these are so far only compatable with 2006 and later 200/225 135/150 and 75/90
no can do on the 130s

Do you have any more details on this?
It sounds as if NEMA2000 data can be outputted from the digital gauges to a NEMA2000 bus? Not much info available on the net regarding these gauges.

Techies in Atlanta HQS told me Honda does not support NMEA. However, there is an NMEA 2000 plug coming out of my digital gauges, so I'm wondering - will try to determine whether anything is being output from the plug - need to find a NMEA female plug wired to a RS232 or USB plug so I can read out raw info on my computer, if anything is there.

The other idea I'm checking on is that there is a diagnostic plug on my BF 225 itself. This engine is a standard Honda J35 series, so it seems logical that the diagnostic output would follow the SAE J1938 standard. Now, the trick is to find or build an interface from that plug to a NMEA 2000 plug with the appropriate translation software.

Anybody out there been down this road?

The only NMEA compatible Honda is the new BF40/50D. The gauges do not output NMEA2000. Every new model/minor model change will have NMEA2000 output from here on out. It is possible to create a converter box connected to the diagnostics port, but that would be difficult without understanding Honda's proprietary coding system.
