honda bf 115 problems

I have a 2002 honda bf115. last few trips out after getting up to power engine will drop to about half power. no alarms. yesterday at half power engine would lose power slightly and recover again and again. same at full power. checked for hole in gas line, even changed lines. (at recomendation of friend). this did not help. service in mi. is limited for hondas.

there was a service publication from Honda about mud daubers building nests under engine cowlings and causing problems with the electronic sensors-one model has 2 "electric eyes"-one to tell it when to pump fuel-one to tell it when to fire...that one all confused with a nest over the eye !!

I have a BF130 which is about the same as your 115, and I had similar problems with full speed and power. If you haven't checked yet, see if the injectors are firing. Mine were firing, but apparently not fully with load and speed, so I changed them out with a new set and that cured the problem.

Also all the fuel filters, tank, LP plastic one, water seperator and the small HP filter in the vapor seperator.

check your water separator also and fuel filters for water
