Look for repair tips in respect the shifter shaft inspection and replacement. Motor will not shift into gear/ Water pump impellor change gone wrong

There's a coupler that fastens the upper and lower halve of the shift shaft together that must be undone to remove the lower. It sounds like maybe it wasn't reconnected when the lower was reinstalled?
