Hello, I am in need of help for my friend. His B100L is reluctant to start. When it does, it backfires severely. Choke doesn't seem to help. Barely wants to fire in neutral. It was running very poorly, backfiring loudly. I couldn't get it running to check. It would fire then every other pull, kick back severely. I was told by a serviceperson that a valve might be bad? That was based on the poor running/backfiring. That doesn't seem to fit the troubles, does it? What should I think about looking at or servicing? Carb? Electronic components? Fuel filter? Timing marks appear to be lined up correctly, and I really don't know what to do with the motors made after the 60's... any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
