I'm trying to salvage my Honda B100S-1706359 (not sure what year) that was submerged in saltwater during Huricane Ivan. Two big mistakes were leaving it untouched for 5 months and removing the timing belt without noting the position. I've got everything freed up but don't know where to align the flywheel. I found the marks under the rubber seal on the cam pulley. The flywheel has two holes that line up with the key. There is also letters IT and IF inscribed on the flywheel. What aligns with what?

Re: Honda B100 Timing

Before you begin turning things, you need to be aware that there will be valves open and rotating the crank will bring pistons up which may impact a valve. Not being a Honda guy I can only warn you. Installing the belt one tooth off either way puts you in potential trouble so I would highly suggest you get a service manual or consult with your Honda mechanic.

There are no alignment marks under that rubber seal that wiil help you with cam/flywheel timing. That is all accomplished with a series of dots on the cam pulley and cylinder head and the T line on your flywheel and the arrow on the rear boss of the starter mount.
