I have a Honda B100 that I received with the timing belt removed.
Although I purchased a manual that was supposed to cover this model, it appears not to be addressed.
Can anyone tell me how to time this engine?

Thanks

Re: Honda B100 Timing Belt

Is the belt gone or just removed from the cam pulley? If it is gone you will need to remove the flywheel. If it is not you will now need to set TDC carefully either way.Do'nt move things around too much in this situation as these are interfereance valves and can be easily bent.Remove the spark plugs. Remove the valve cover and back off all the valve adjustment screws and locknuts.Apply bandaids to your knuckles wounds and continue.Put on your glasses and find the T line on the flywheel. Then find the imprinted dot on top of the cam pulley and align it with the identical looking dot just in front of it stamped in the head.Do this all by hand and if you feel any hard resistance STOP!!Are you with me so far?More to go.

Re: Honda B100 Timing Belt

Belt has been slipped off the cam pulley only.
I understand about interference engines.
I found the timing marks on the cam pulley and the head and have set cam pulley to it's proper position.
Flywheel has 2 notations. "T |" and "F |". I have aligned the line next to the "T" notation to the mark on the pull starter support.

Adjust the valves ,middle two are intake and adjusted to .004 to .006 inches, outer are exhaust with a .006 to .008 spec.Start with the dot and timeing pulley aligned.Thats #1.Then move the cam pulley 180 degrees and that is #2 TDC.Idid'nt ask but hopefully you have that belt back on the pulley.
