I have a Honda 90 BF and when I start it up at home and put into gear it sounds great. When I go into the water and put it into gear ( Ford or reverse) it goes clunk, clunk clunk and the clunk gets faster if I go faster. to me it feels like its jumping out of gear every revolution and the clunks are timed evenly not random. It only hapens when the boat is in the water when the prop is under presure, dosent happen when I run the motor with a hose and ears. any ideas I would greatly appreciate as I have spent over $4000 so far:( through boat mechanics to still have the same problem. :(

Either the shift linkage is out of adjustment, or you have bad gears.
