Here's a dummy question for ya - the Honda 90 is listed as "jet ready" with 65hp at pump - does that mean that this model is capable of BOTH prop AND jet drive - or one or the other? - not both - I can't imagine they are so advance yet to offer both options on the same drive shaft - but I have images of being able to take off a prop and turn a few screws and convert to jet drive - am I nuts? Thanks in advance.

Mook

A jet unitis a seperate lower unit. You have to remove the lower unit and replace it with a jet pump. Both have their own drive shaft. The only other thing is to hook the shift cable to the pump unit...Just my Thought

You can switch from jet to prop with most jet conversions, which is really all any so called factory jet outboard is.The problem is that when you install that jet unit you will find that the engine will need to be raised a good 5 inches or more which means you will need to build a sturdy trasom riser, remove it, seal and reinstall it ,remove again, evertime you make the switch.I know people that do this but all have a different boat for each applcation.
