Honda 9.9hp

Looking at gettting a 1997 Honda 4 Stroke 9.9hp. It's price tag is $1500, and i know new they are closer to $2400. Is this a good price? Not sure how much value they hold over time. Any thoughts? Thanks

I think that is a little on the high side for a 10 year old motor. I would be thinking more around 1K, unless you know the history, but still high.
I have a 1993 w/probably 4,000 hrs of trolling on it, would you be willing to pay that for my 15 hp (same motor)? I know I wouldn't. It still runs great and hopefully has that more left on it.

Honda does hold value well. That said I think the price is high for a 10 year old motor.
